Recently

Recently we’ve been re organising the studio samples. I’m a sucker for a new year clear out. I like to set out our intentions and always try to reduce holding onto the things we don’t need that build up over the year. Across all areas of my life. I’ve realised that our massive fabric sample collection has by and large become redundant.

I’ve noticed we have over the years been focusing and refocusing on our fabric choices to a much smaller pool of companies and lines.

The companies we’ve been working with mainly have championed their reduced impact on the environment, have a significantly beautiful offering and who’s collections work harmoniously together. They ignite a sense of warmth and comfort. All of which add layers of tactility to the home.  This all helps make more space to invite really specialised niche fabrics where required. Ones that sometime bridge the gap between hard finishes and fabrics, like horse hair for example. A particularly traditional fabric that is super strong indeed and a joy to use. We had such a bonus experience with a back lit bar for a beautiful little commercial project, where the dye batch that came in was darker than expected, but the effect with the light pouring through the fabric was even more magical than planned.

We are always on the hunt for UK artists, mills, makers etc and despite also often working with many international manufacturers, we try to put focus towards our island industries.
